History

since 1875

A look back at our most important milestones since our foundation in 1875

In 1875 the first factory was founded in San Adrián, the canning heart of Navarra. A century later, the BEBÉ brand still has its factory in the same location.

Since 1934 we have been making jams, fruit in syrup and compotes, respecting the traditional recipe but incorporating the latest technological advances.

In 2003, we joined the Helios Group, a national leader in the jam market, with the aim of continuing to manufacture BEBÉ brand products with the same care as always.

1875

founded a small artisanal workshop in San Adrián de Palmas (Navarra).

1916

The trademark

for canned vegetables is registered at the Ministry of National Economy: La Flor de Navarra.

1920

He
started

to make fruit preserves and candied fruit.

The quality of the products brought accolades such as the Diploma of Honour of the Exhibition of La Coruña and the First Prize at the Exhibition of San Sebastian.

1934

The Bebé

brand was conceived for fruit preserves and fruit spreads.

1949

The
company

was awarded the title of Model Company on account of its political, economic and particularly social behaviour.

1964

Mermeladas
BEBÉ

is modernized. The industrial development of the company is boosted, acquiring machinery abroad to improve quality, increase production and be able to compete in the market.

1988

Industrias
Alimentarias
de Navarra (IAN),

a preserve-making cooperative founded in 1975, became a joint stock company on partnering up with a major financial and industrial concern called VISCOFAN, S.A. It took over Industrias Muerza with its traditional brands, Bebé and Carretilla.

2003

BEBÉ

joins the Helios Group, a national leader in the jam market and one of the most important in the European Union, with the aim of continuing to manufacture BEBÉ brand products with the same care as always.
